REAL UNEMPLOYMENT, BENEFITS AND PROPOSAL FOR JOB CREATION

ED's NOTE
I have written in other posts about inaccurate data coming from the Bureau of Labor Statitistics (BLS), Office of Management and the Budget (OMB) and the Congressional Budget Office (CBO). People who know the truth and know how to find it are often appalled at how little interest there is in knowing the truth. They simply accept the data from reporting agencies, much of which is false and deliberately misrepresented.
This post is by Steve Kauffman, an executive, retired from the position as head of the NY Transportation System who is credited with success in reforming that system to financial viability where many aren't. I very much respect his views, consider him a valued friend and look to him for advice in resolving questions and disputes.
Steve's website: stevesworld26.com is worthy of a visit from all readers. I urge it in fact.

THOUGHTS ABOUT REAL UNEMPLOYMENT, BENEFITS AND JOB CREATION
BY STEVE KAUFFMAN

The Shadow Government Statistics website shows the real state of unemployed people in the nation to be around 23%, three times the "official" rate. The BLS does not count anyone who has given up and just dropped out of the labor force. Those folks are probably getting government assistance, running up the national debt, contributing nothing. They may leave the middle class and join the ranks of the impoverished forever.

A recent article says that some Republican in Congress wants to increase unemployment benefits. Why is he not, instead, demanding that steps be taken to create new private sector jobs? Why doesn't someone in a position to influence action do so by proposing plans like "Seven Plans to Create Jobs and Cut Costs" shown on my website: stevesworld26.com?

Seventy percent of our notion's people say the economy is in the tank. What does it take to wake up the
Congress?

If the Republicans focused all their efforts on promoting real plans for creating jobs, cutting unemployment and getting the economy going, the election in November would give them overwhelming majorities in both houses of Congress to override any veto Obama tried to use to thwart their will. He would be history. The Republicans would be in control! But they have to convince the voters they are sincere about focusing on creating good jobs for them.

Why are not all the conservative think tanks getting off their asses, getting their minds in gear and starting to think of ideas and plans like mine? Visit their websites. They are all about asking for money to support THEM. They show no ideas or plans for getting the economy moving again.

The same is true of the politicians. What do they say they will do to create jobs? They claim they want to balance the budget. The way to do that is to create conditions that create private sector jobs. Look at the plans on my website, stevesworld26.com. DO SOMETHING CONSTRUCTIVE. STOP THE THOUGHTLESS YAMMERING! ACT!

David Burnham, my hero and inspiration, said, "Make no little plans - They have no magic to stir men's blood and have not within themselves the power of their own fulfillment. Make big plans; aim high in hope and work, remembering that a noble, logical diagram once recorded will never die, but long after we are gone will be a living thing, asserting itself with ever-growing insistency."

FOCUS, FOCUS, FOCUS! JOBS, JOBS, JOBS!=
